Abstract
Hunter Portman is a monster tracker. Sure, as a shapeshifter, most humans would consider him a monster, too, but he’s actually trying to protect us. Well, sort of. His bosses have an ulterior motive. They don’t want humankind finding out there are portals to alternate dimensions. They think we’d invade. Or worse: send tourists. Accordingly, the number one rule for monster trackers is to keep the existence of monsters a secret from humans. The number two rule is to keep a low profile. Hunter breaks both rules when he saves a human security guard from an unusually vicious gremlin and nearly destroys a nightclub. But the human doesn’t run away screaming.
