Abstract
Four nineteenth century women, Florence Agassiz, Eleanor Fellows, Violet Sillitoe and Helen Kate Woods lived and traveled in British Columbia very much as a minority - white and female. Bridge looks at each of these pioneering women, first through their writings and then within the historical context of the time.
