Since the days when golfing was done with a shepherd's crook, only seven men have one a major after the age of 44. BJ figures his chances are slim and none. Fresh from divorce number three and competing against a prodigy youngster, he knows he's past his prime but wants to be more than an "in other news" in the golf world. Not helping matters is the prodigy's attractive mother, who just might end up being wife number four.

Fortysomething sportswriter Jack Brannon is bored to tears with the men's tour. So he decides to check out Ginger Clayton, the hot, new franchise babe on the ladies' links. Things get interesting in a hurry, as it becomes clear somebody wants the gorgeous superstar disqualified for good.

Kenny Lee Puckett has yet to find game and fortune as a professional golfer, but he keeps swinging, hoping to make a name for himself. One of many fringe players on the tour, Puckett has been no more successful on the marriage circuit. Despite the old adage, the third time isn't the charm, as Puckett seems certain to see another walk down the aisle end up in divorce court. Stil, there's always the promise of the greens, and Puckett is gunning for a U.S. Open title that could turn everything around.

Seth faces a strain on his friendship with Jimmy, who is both a baseball champion and something of an irresponsible fool, when Jimmy is kicked off the team.
